Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) www.uprtou.ac.in

Available Courses affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU): Note: Under all the courses, a student, taking admission in Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Prayagraj, can take a degree course and diploma and certificate course. Admission takes place in July and January in Study Centre- 023 Rana Pratap PG College only.

General Instructions

1. The process of admission in Under graduate (UG) and Post graduate (PG) courses begins in the first week of June every year.
2. The number of seats for admission to all courses is determined by the Dr. R M. L. Avadh University, Ayodhya.
3. Admission process in Faculty of Education (B.Ed.) is based on the entrance examination organized by Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination UP B.Ed. every year.
4. For admission Ph.D. Courses, eligible student has to clear pre-Ph.D. entrance test and interview conducted by Dr. R M. L. Avadh University, Ayodhya.

Mandatory Qualification for Admission

• For admission to Graduate level (U.G. Level) the student must have passed Intermediate of equivalent examination in 2016 or later.
Minimum educational qualification is as follows:
• B. A. - Intermediate or equivalent examination passed in any branch.
• B. Com - Intermediate or equivalent examination passed in any branch.
• B. Sc. (Bio)- Intermediate or equivalent examination passed in Bio branch.
• B. Sc. (Math) -Intermediate or equivalent examination passed in Math branch.
• L.L.B. Law (3 Year) - Graduated examination passed in any category for general candidates 45% in the concerned examination and minimum 42% for other backward caste candidates and minimum 40% marks for SC & ST candidates are compulsory. Age limit none.
• For admission to Post Graduate level, in any of the subjects offered, candidates must have passed the graduate level (Third Year) exam with the same subject.

Criteria for subject selection:

1. In First year, all the papers are compulsory in Commerce Faculty. Optional paper is selected separately in 2nd and 3rd year of the course.
2. For Science Faculty, the following subject combination are allowed:
• Maths, Physics, Chemistry.
• Botany, Zoology, Chemistry.
3. For Arts Faculty, Dr. R. M. L. Avadh University, Ayodhya has classified all subjects of Arts into three groups. Students are required to select maximum two subjects from anyone group; as such total three subjects:
1. Hindi, Urdu, English, Sanskrit
2. Economics, Political Science, Ancient History, Geography
3. Sociology, Psychology, Education, Defence Studies,

Note:

1. In the three to be selected major subjects in U.G. Course, student can opt only two literature subjects among the four (Hindi, Urdu, English, Sanskrit).
2. In the three to be selected major subjects in U.G. Course, student cannot take both Education and Psychology together.

Admission – Procedure

General Instruction:

1. Admission to the college will be based on the merit of the total marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
2. The list of selected students for admission will be displayed on the College's notice board and website.
3. Selected candidates must report for admission on the specified date and bring the following documents:
4. Original Transfer Certificate (T.C.) and Character Certificate (C.C.) from the institution where they last studied.
5. Original certificates of all passed examinations for verification, along with photocopies.
6. One passport-sized colored photograph.
7. Selected candidates must pay the admission fee at the College fee counter within the allotted time. If the fee is not paid within the specified period, their admission will be automatically canceled, and the next candidate on the merit list will be considered.
8. The admission fee, once paid, is non-refundable.
9. Reservation and weightage for admission will be applied according to the guidelines of the U.P. Government and the University.

Attendance and Discipline:

1. Students should consult the respective Faculty In-charge or Chief Proctor if they encounter any issues related to discipline.
2. According to University rules, students must maintain at least 75% attendance; otherwise, they will not be permitted to take the University Examination.
3. The Principal may revoke a student’s admission if they are absent for 15 days or more.
4. If a student gains admission using false or fake documents, their admission will be revoked and legal action may be taken.
5. All students are expected to maintain discipline both in the College and in the classroom. Any student found engaging in indiscipline will be subject to punishment.
6. The caution money will be refunded to students upon completion of their course or leaving the College. Claims for caution money made more than one year after leaving the College will not be honored.
7. Once admitted, students are required to carry their College ID card at all times. This ID must be properly signed by the Proctor’s office. Lending the ID card to another student or misusing it is not allowed.
8. Regular students are required to wear the prescribed uniform in the College.
9. Students must park their vehicles only in the designated Vehicle Stand.
10. Ragging is banned in the College and is a serious offense. Students caught participating in ragging will be reported to the police and an FIR will be filed against them. Students are strongly advised to steer clear of such activities. The College has established an Anti-ragging Committee, a Proctorial Board, and a vigilance team that closely monitors student activities to maintain a ragging-free environment.
